SVP Teens
Creating change through philanthropy has been the goal of SVP teens since the program began seven years ago. The teen program provides Partners’ children, grandchildren and their friends the opportunity to learn about grant making and strategic philanthropy. Together, the teens decide an issue on which to focus and conduct their research and due diligence before choosing a nonprofit in which to invest.
In 2009, the SVP Teens awarded $3,000 to each of two grant recipients focusing on after-school educational programming:
- Ear Candy Productions – devoted to creating, supporting and sustaining music programs for kids
- Project Lead at Heard Elementary School – supporting academic enrichment programs for children and families.
