Marissa’s philanthropic journey really started after graduate school, when she worked for The Conservation Foundation in Washington, D.C. Since then, she’s served on a number of boards in various leadership roles. Most recently, for SVPAZ, she was co-chair of the 2017 Fast Pitch Selection Committee.
Here’s what Marissa had to share:
What led you to SVP? I have been aware of SVPAZ since its inception as they are members of AGF. I admire the organization’s mission and specific initiatives and appreciate bringing a business perspective to nonprofit management.
What do you most look forward to / hope to accomplish as a Partner? I look forward to continuing to serve on the Investment Committee and Fast Pitch Selection Committee. I enjoy staying connected to my SVPAZ colleagues.
What’s your most marked characteristic? My thick hair – get more compliments on this than anything else!
When and where are you happiest? Spending time with family and friends.
What’s on your bucket list? To travel to New Zealand and Machu Picchu.
What four words would other people use to describe you? Intelligent, optimistic, win-win attitude, caring.
