A Busy Summer for Investee Spot 127

Aug 11, 2017

spot-logoSVPAZ Investee SPOT 127 has been busy this summer! Recently, both locations are embarked on a joint Freedom Podcasting workshop in partnership with Dr. Wanda Tucker, Rio Salado College’s faculty chair for Psychology, Philosophy and Religious Studies. The workshop is supported by a grant from the MAXIMUS Foundation. Students explored topics related to the freedom theme and created podcasts to share at a Listening Party at SPOT 127.

SPOT 127 East and West also held a two-week digital media boot camp in June. Designed for beginning students, the boot camp provided an intensive introduction to audio and video production. Students interviewed friends, family and fellow SPOT students to create audio stories, then visited the Arizona Exotic Bird Rescue for their video project.

At the end of June, SPOT 127 East held a week-long culinary video workshop. Students learned to create how-to recipe videos for a new offshoot of our SERVED food series, SERVED: SPOT Kitchen.

Check out the students’ work below, and be sure to follow us on social media to get updates on our latest classes and events:
