Partner Mary Ann Marasco is an active board members with the Balsz Community Education Foundation. Part of their annual community outreach includes a golf tournament. This year’s tournament is on Sept. 29 at the Papago Golf Course.
The Balsz School District supports 2,600 elementary school age children out of four schools right here in Phoenix. 90% of the children are eligible for free or reduced lunches and all four schools are Title One schools.
The BCEF supports the school district by funding signature programs such as Kids Read, after school programs like Skate After School (a 2017 Fast Pitch finalist), Teacher Appreciation, mini grants for teachers revolving around STEM, Phoenix Boys Choir at the Boys and Girls Club and special events.
The funds from the golf tournament go directly to enhance the students, schools and the community. Mary Ann shared that the Foundation is looking for sponsorships, golfers, and silent auction items.
