Backpack Buddies

Each year thousands of kids come to Arizona schools lacking basic essentials in terms of home, health, and school supplies. Through a collaboration with Back-to-School Clothing Drive Association (BTSCDA), as well as corporate and community sponsors, the Legacy  Backpack Buddies Project equips over 5,000 elementary school-age children from low-income families in the greater Phoenix and Tri-State regions with back-to-school supplies, health and hygiene-related items and clothing.  Thousands more are still on the waiting list.

One hundred percent of all sponsorship dollars and contributions support the cost of clothing, shoes, backpacks and the backpack contents.  Should donations exceed the total cost of the back-to-school project items for a year, the remaining dollars will be used to support elementary school-based medical clinics, dental services and other back-to-school programs for elementary school children of low-income families in the greater Phoenix and Tri-State regions.
