NGP | Fast Pitch Perspective

May 9, 2017

My experience at the SVPAZ Fast Pitch event was very fun. I had the chance to speak in front of the 700+ people about what we did at NGP – Next Generation Partners, and also say the winner of one of the grants we [The Kiita Foundation] gave out.

AmyEmily (2)I was only a little scared when I went up there because I have been on a stage so many different times for my dance competitions and recitals. This was a little more scary than those though because I have never had to speak in front of that many people. It was actually less scary than I thought it would be. I was more scared before I went up there than after.

It was also easier than what most of the other people had to do though, I only had to say a few sentences, rather than a whole speech. I got the easy part!

That was my first time at this event, I didn’t know there would be so many people there. I saw so many different people I hadn’t seen in a while, and also people I saw the day before. I would love to go back to that event! I had lots of fun and would definitely do it again!

One of the memorable moments from the night is when the Kiita Foundation gave an on-the-spot award of $2,500 to Skate After School, after already awarding $7,500 to Northbridge College Success Program. Emily presented the awards with her mom and SVPAZ Partner Amy Armstrong.

EmilyEmily Armstrong is a rising seventh grader and part of the inaugural class of the Next Generation Partner program. She joins the Partnership with her parents and grandparents – a generational experience!
