SVP and Local Phoenix Schools Partner to Get Rid of Lice

Nov 19, 2013

From the desk of Dr. Jarret Sharp, Principal of Crockett Elementary School…

“Yesterday we diagnosed 13 children with lice and we received out first shipment of Guardian NPX!  Here’s to breaking the the cycle of poverty!  We are ever so grateful to SVP and Jason of ETI for this winning relationship!

Samantha Hapitas, Crockett Elementary School Nurse says…

We are doing regular lice checks. We have had several students who are sent home for lice and we hand out the Guardian NPX shampoos to each student.  Then there is a lice recheck for nits.  Some students are clean the next day and some are not clean for at least a week but I think that is more due to parental care than any other reason.  Of those that have used the shampoo and been diligent about coming out the nits, I’ve had great reviews.  The parents appreciate the shampoo and its efficacy.  I also recommend continued use until the shampoo is gone to prevent re-infestation from home. *

Social Venture Partners role…

Back in September Dr. Sharp,  informed the SVP Education Affinity Group that a major challenge for the school is lice as it keeps some children out of school for weeks at a time.  The solution?  A product, called Guardian NPX, that works quickly and without causing students embarrassment.  The annual cost to provide the entire school with treatment is $5000. With an initial goal of $1500, SVP Partners are donating funds to launch this year’s program. With a goal of fighting poverty, Guardian NPX is donating a bottle for every bottle purchased. If you would like to help invest in a child’s treatment,  please send a check to SVP Arizona and we will provide funding  to the school for this purpose.
