SVPAZ Staff Q&A | Terri Wogan Calderon

May 22, 2017

TWCfor AdFor 11 years, Terri Wogan Calderón has been at the helm of Social Venture Partners. She’s seen the organization through the recession, launching and sustaining Fast Pitch, mentoring staff members and growing the team, and maintaining her sense of calm leadership through it all.

Today, on her birthday, and close to the anniversary of her start date with SVPAZ, we wanted to share a bit more about her:

Favorite part of working at SVPAZ: Connecting Partners to the work we do and always learning something!

Favorite memory of your time at SVPAZ: Securing our first sponsorship for Fast Pitch, which helped propel us forward to making it happen. Also, the care and love I received from everyone at SVP when my husband Mark passed away unexpectedly in May, 2010.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring three items, what would you bring? My iPhone, family photos, and my husband, Ernie.

When you’re not working at SVPAZ, how do you spend your time? Traveling and spending time with my family—husband, the grandchildren and their wonderful parents.

Tell us about your family (furry members, included!). Ernie and I are parents to four rescues—two cats, Jack and Daisy – and two dogs, Bella and Charlie. Our human family is a blended one—seven adult children, three sons-in-law, and nine grandchildren. Our favorite theme is—“We may not have it all together—but together we have it all!”

You are never without my iPad.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, it would be: My mother’s lasagna

When you’re not hard at work at SVPAZ, we would find you (either at a location or doing a particular hobby … or both!): Chilling at home or antiquing with Ernie.

Favorite quote:When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything you gave me.”– Erma Bombec

Favorite vacation spot and why: Paris because I love the history, culture, people, food—and especially the romance.

Happiest of birthdays, Terri, and congratulations on 11 years. We’re so thankful for you!
