Healthy Future US is playing a breakthrough role in reversing the obesity, diabetes, mental health & related chronic diseases epidemic, & substantially reducing health costs. HFUS addresses the root causes of inactivity, unhealthy nutrition, & excess stress/trauma systemically & sustainably, focusing initially on K-12 schools. It brings together an integrated combination of high collective-impact plans & partners, policies, programs & payment-with-payback.

Healthy Future US is expanding a low-cost national breakthrough model, originated by UArizona, which helped dramatically improve activity, nutrition habits & child obesity, increasing the percentage of students with fitness from 18% to 78% in 20 Title 1 schools. HFUS co-led successful SB1083 K-5 school recess bill advocacy –increasing physical activity by 50% for over 250,000 AZ kids. HFUS also led successful first-in-the-nation rule-making with the AZ State Board of Education to agree to include physical, health, & arts ed in the state’s A-F school accountability system. HFUS also developed the first comprehensive high-ROI case to cost-justify $500M+/year in sustainable new health investments in preventive K-12 education, using evidence-based approaches with proven rapid payback–culminating in the Healthy Students Healthy State campaign.
